Meet The Founder
Dr. Stefan Kaneff is the founder and CEO of EUROS. As an employee of Siemens (Ottobrunn, near Munich) in the 1970s, he was a developer of the first Siemens RTOS for the Intel 8080/8085. A version then followed for the x86 processor family. Currently this system, known as RMOS, operates many devices of Siemens and its customers. Dr. Kaneff was on the staff of a US specialist in RTOSes from 1983 to 1987. There he was part of the team that developed the MTOS/UX RTOS.
Since you have shown interest and visited our website, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself – Dr.-Ing. Stefan Kaneff – company’s founder.
In 1979, I started working as a software engineer at Siemens Ottobrunn, near Munich, where I developed the RMOS real-time operating system for 8-bit microprocessors, which at that time was the first of its kind in both Germany and Europe.
At that time, we also developed the first microprocessor system in our department, called SMP (Siemens Microprocessor Platinen System), which was also unique in Germany and Europe at that time (see attached file).
I then moved to an American company, Industrial Programming, Inc., in New York, where I spent four years developing the MTOS real-time operating system for more advanced 16-bit microprocessors.
After returning to Germany, Siemens asked me to develop a new real-time operating system in order to introduce the new 16-bit technology throughout the entire group without too much bureaucracy. This led to the development of RTOS EUROS (Enhanced Universal Real-Time Operating System) and the subsequent founding of Dr. Kaneff Engineering Consultants and EUROS Embedded Systems GmbH.
